Rosebud Baker: The Mother Lode

This is a stand-up special. The person on stage is Rosebud Baker. The subject is motherhood and the road to it. The show was filmed on two separate nights. The difference between them matters. One is before the birth and the other after. Passages from the two are cut into each other. The same subject is told from two places that way. Baker talks about the decision to have a child. She turns the process of giving birth into comedy as well. Infertility and loss are inside the account too. So is what she went through afterwards. The generational distance from her own family comes up. Rosebud Baker is alone on stage in the fifty four minute special, an American production she directed herself, finished in 2025.
