Uje Brandelius, the singer of the nineties pop band Doktor Kosmos, is diagnosed with Parkinson’s and his life turns over. Unable to trust anyone with it, he tries to keep the illness from his family, his friends and the people he works with. The film is autobiographical: Brandelius wrote it, plays himself, and his own children play his children. Henrik Schyffert’s first film as a director screened at the Goteborg Film Festival in 2020 and won the FIPRESCI prize there, and then took three Guldbagge awards including best film. At seventy-eight minutes it handles the illness from inside ordinary life rather than as a tragedy.
