Tharun Moorthy's 2022 Malayalam film follows Abhilash, summoned to court years later over an incident from his childhood. A small fight became a case and the file has stayed open for more than a decade. The subject is the delay itself. While the case proceeds the parties grow older, move away and some die; even what the original disagreement was has been forgotten. The narrative shows justice arriving late not as a malfunction but as a punishment. The narrative runs on two timelines and opens step by step how the incident grew. The cast is largely made up of unknown performers. It is the director's second film and the tone is kept measured. Who it's for: those who like Malayalam social drama. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a fast narrative; in telling about delay the film keeps its own pace low.
