Seawards Journey

Five villagers from Uruguay set out to see the sea for the first time. The journey is made in a broken down freight truck. The truck belongs to Rodríguez, a man of few words who loves the sea. The starting point is the village bar. At the last moment a man they do not know joins them from that bar. The film builds the journey not as an adventure but as a conversation among six people. People who have never seen the sea going to see it is the real subject. The seventy eight minutes are given to a single road. César Troncoso and Hugo Arana appear in Guillermo Casanova’s film, a joint Uruguayan and Argentine production, completed in 2003.
