What Sebastian Is About
Max is twenty-five, freelancing in London and wanting to write his first novel. His name is starting to be heard in cultural circles. At night he has another life entirely: he meets men through an escorting platform under the name Sebastian. He treats the work as both money and material for the book he means to write. But the two lives begin running into each other, and the space Sebastian takes from Max keeps growing. Mikko Mäkelä directs, with Ruaridh Mollica as Max and Jonathan Hyde and Ingvar E. Sigurðsson alongside. The film is about writing turning a life into material, and about what that costs.
