Vele’s father has cancer and there is no money for the medicine he needs. Out of desperation he steals marijuana from some criminals, bakes it into a cake and gives it to his father, hoping it will ease the pain. When the man’s condition improves in a way nobody expected, the thing grows: the neighbours start asking for the recipe, and the men whose drugs were taken want them back. The film gives the gap between poverty and the health system as black comedy, and never lets you forget that what looks like a miracle is really a form of helplessness. Blagoj Veselinov plays the lead in Gjorce Stavreski’s hundred and four minute Macedonian film, completed in 2018.
