Shatamanam Bhavati

Raghavaraju is a landowning farmer in a village in Andhra Pradesh. He lives with his wife Janakamma in the large house his forefathers built. His children and grandchildren are scattered across the United States, Canada and Australia. For ten years nobody comes back to the village. Then an email arrives from the father: Raghavaraju has written that he wants to divorce his wife. The children hurry back for the harvest festival. What the film tells is why that letter was written and what lies behind it. The account builds the matter from the parents’ side rather than the children’s. Prakash Raj and Jayasudha take the leads, with Sharwanand and Anupama Parameswaran also in the cast. Satish Vegesna’s hundred and thirty five minute Telugu film was completed in 2017.
