Shinobi no Mono 4: Siege

The story covers the years 1614 and 1615. Tokugawa Ieyasu is by now the ruler of all Japan. One task is left before his hold is complete: destroying the Toyotomi clan, besieged in Osaka castle. The only ones who can get into the fortress are Ieyasu’s ninja. But Kirigakure Saizo and the other Toyotomi ninja can get out just as easily. While armies of samurai take up positions, the real struggle goes on in the dark. The film pushes the great battle into the background and brings the line of espionage forward. It was made as the fourth film of a series. Raizō Ichikawa and Tomisaburō Wakayama appear in Tokuzō Tanaka’s eighty seven minute Japanese film, completed in 1964.
