Sky West and Crooked

There is a young woman. She lives alone and keeps her distance from those around her. Ten years ago she lost a childhood friend, suddenly and shockingly. That loss left its mark on her. Now she finds comfort in burying dead animals. The practice is an order she has made for herself. The account moves along inside that order. The loss of ten years ago reaches all the way into the present. She sets her own distance from those around her. The film runs drama and romance together. Hayley Mills and Ian McShane take the leads, with Annette Crosbie and Laurence Naismith also in the cast. John Mills directed this British film of 1966.
