Solitude

Gunnar is an aged farmer. He has spent his life on his farm. One day he has to move away from it. That is how he meets the city for the first time. The city is wholly strange to him. There is a boy in the neighbourhood who delivers papers. The boy is called Ari. The two of them become friends in time. The bond between them changes both of them. The life of the boy’s family is touched by it too. The account moves between loneliness and friendship. Þröstur Leó Gunnarsson and Hermann Samúelsson take the leads, with Anna Gunndís Guðmundsdóttir also in the cast, in Ninna Pálmadóttir’s French, Icelandic and Slovak coproduction of 2024.
