What Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed Is About
Hernán Rosselli's 2025 Argentine film follows the Felpeto family, who run an illegal lottery from inside their houses on a small estate. Maribel manages the clerks who log the bets in her living room. After the father's death the accounts become tangled; the narrative does not build a crime film but shows the daily working of a family business and who owes what to whom. The cast come from a real family and play roles close to their own lives. The images sit between documentary and fiction. The tone is calm. Who it's for: those who like Argentine independent cinema and hybrid forms. Who it's not for: viewers expecting tension; the film is made almost entirely of ordinary work.
