What Starchaser: The Legend of Orin Is About
On the subterranean Mine-World, people are worked like slaves under a tyrant named Zygon. A young man called Orin digs up the hilt of a mythical sword and finds that he is the only one who can wield it. He escapes the planet and runs into Dagg, a smuggler, a pair of droids and a princess. The four of them plan to go back to Mine-World and bring Zygon down. Steven Hahn's film was one of the first features to mix hand-drawn and computer animation, and it was shown in 3-D. Its resemblance to Star Wars was written about plainly at the time; the New York Times called it an outright rip-off.
