Stickmen

Jack, Thomas and Wayne are friends who want something simple out of life: a beer in one hand, a cue in the other and a coin on the table. They play for fun and for money around the pubs of Wellington. When Dave, the bar owner trying to dig himself out of debt, enters them in a high stakes tournament, the three of them drop into the world of the vicious crime boss who runs it, and pool stops being any kind of game. Hamish Rothwell directed the ninety eight minute New Zealand film from a screenplay by Nick Ward. It won four New Zealand Film Awards in 2001 and sold to more than thirty countries. Robbie Magasiva, Paolo Rotondo and Scott Wills star.
