Strähl

Herbert Strähl is a narcotics officer. His beat is the Langstrasse in Zurich. The drug trade on that street is wide open. Strähl works against it. The results he gets do not satisfy him. The job looks like a dead end. Carol is a young woman living on the street. She is dependent on drugs. Strähl falls in love with her. The attachment tangles his work. He wants to get her out of the world she is in. In doing it he steps into that world himself. Dependence and violence reach him too. The line between the officer and the street is rubbed out. The film tells it in a cold register. Roeland Wiesnekker and Johanna Bantzer appear in the eighty three minute film, a Swiss production Manuel Flurin Hendry finished in 2004.
