Subham

Praveen Kandregula's 2025 Telugu film is set in the coastal town of Bheemili in the early 2000s. A serial broadcast on cable television takes possession of the married women of the town, and the husbands band together to look for a remedy. The idea is to use the possession template to talk about control inside marriage: what the men really fear is not a supernatural force but the women having an interest of their own. The comedy rests on that irony. The production is small in scale and the cast are not well-known names. Its weakness is the idea running out in the second half and the horror element having no effect. Who it's for: viewers who like Telugu horror comedy and low-budget independent productions. Who it's not for: anyone wanting real horror, or an ending outside the template.
