Hasith Goli's 2024 Telugu film follows several people pursuing an inheritance. The narrative runs across different generations of the same family, all concerned with the same fortune. The axis is the history of relations between women and men. In the section set in the past a king demands a male heir, and the consequences run through the generations; the narrative builds this as satire and takes the question of gender as a direct subject. Sree Vishnu plays several roles. The narrative proceeds through jumps in time and the humour is dry; the structure is complex and asks for attention. The film is an unusual experiment in Telugu cinema. Who it's for: those who like Telugu black comedy and layered structures. Who it's not for: viewers expecting an easily followed narrative; the film multiplies its lines deliberately.
