Tarkan

Attila, ruler of the European Huns, sends Tarkan, the raider he trusts most, on an errand: to find and bring back the sword of Mars, said to make its owner master of the world. Only the priest Moro knows where the sword is. Once Tarkan sets out he finds that others are after the same sword: the men of the Roman emperor and of the Vandal king. Tunç Başaran directed the film from Sezgin Burak's comic strip, which had started running in the newspaper Hürriyet in 1967, and it became the first official film of the series. Kartal Tibet played Tarkan in all of them. A film made the year before, without Burak's permission, does not count as part of the series. The budget is small and the sets are simple, but it has kept its place as Yeşilçam's attempt to make a hero of its own.
