Tenor

A young man delivering sushi in Paris and rapping on the side catches a teacher's attention at the opera school he enters on a delivery. She offers to teach him and he tells nobody. The film keeps the caught-between-two-worlds shape while refusing to cut the songs short; the narrative mainly follows him postponing what to tell his family and friends. The lead is a musician and it shows in those scenes. Claude Zidi Jr. directed, with MB14 and Michele Laroque. Who it's for: those who like good-feeling French films built around music. Who it's not for: viewers wanting realism about the opera world; the film keeps the shape deliberately simple.
