Seventeen year old Bennie travels to Buenos Aires to find Tetro, the older brother who disappeared from the family years ago. The man he finds was once a great promise and has since stopped writing, still unable to settle anything about the family’s past. When Bennie reads the manuscript his brother has hidden, old secrets and an old rivalry over their father reopen. Francis Ford Coppola shot it in black and white and kept the flashbacks in colour, producing a personal family story that nods openly at theatre and opera.
