What That's It for Today Is About
Marko Đorđević's 2024 Serbian film follows siblings who come together over one summer. They bake their eldest brother's favourite dessert to lure him home. The film builds no event. The days pass in food, talk and wandering; the narrative deliberately extends that ordinariness and shows, without saying it, how fragile the happiness is. The performances are pitched naturally. The images are in summer light. It runs long and the pace is very slow. Who it's for: those who like slow cinema and family portraits. Who it's not for: viewers expecting incident; almost nothing happens.
