What The Black Lapp Is About

Anna lives with her father Karl in a remote corner of northern Norway. Years ago Karl killed his wife and threw her newborn child into the sea; now he is wrestling with her ghost and with drink. Anna is without hope because there are almost no men around, until they find another small family on the other side of the mountain: a widow of Karl’s age, her son Peder, and Ante, her adopted son who came out of the sea. Erik Smith-Meyer puts crime, racism and rural loneliness into the same pot and mixes them with black comedy.
