The Blackwell Ghost 4

Turner Clay's 2020 American film is the fourth entry in the found-footage series he directs himself. He plays under his own name, returning to the house he investigated before to trace the first victim of the killings; the film is presented as a documentary but is fiction. The series' method is to create doubt about what is real: genuine documents, real place names and amateur image quality are used together. That draws the horror largely from expectation; the film shows very little. The budget is extremely small, which is both a limit and part of the method. It is short and offers no context to anyone who has not seen the earlier films. Who it's for: viewers who like found-footage horror and low-budget independent productions. Who it's not for: anyone wanting high production values, or unwilling to start the series from the beginning.
