What The Browning Version Is About

Andrew Crocker-Harris has taught Greek and Latin at an English prep school for nearly twenty years. The boys dislike him, his colleagues do not take him seriously, and his wife Laura is with somebody else and does not trouble to hide it. He is being retired on grounds of health, and it is not even clear he will get a pension. In his last week a boy gives him a small present, and everything he has kept shut for years comes open. Adapted from Terence Rattigan's play; the title refers to Browning's translation of the Agamemnon. Mike Figgis directs, with Albert Finney in the lead.
