What The Deep Red Is About
Years after a family is wiped out in a multiple murder, two young women come face to face. One is the only survivor of that killing and is now a university student. The other is the daughter of the murderer and works as a bartender. As the execution of the killer comes closer, the survivor decides to find the other woman and become her friend. The two have nothing in common and every reason not to meet; they meet all the same. The film leaves it unclear whether what forms between them is really friendship. Rina Uchiyama plays the lead in Takashi Tsukinoki’s hundred and seventeen minute Japanese film, completed in 2005.
