What The Divine Move Is About
A professional Go player puts together a team to reach the man responsible for his brother's death. The game, called baduk in Korea, does not stay on the board here: it gets translated into the language of gambling rooms, prison wings and street fights, where every move on the grid is paid for with the body. Cho Beom-gu uses a familiar revenge structure but borrows his rhythm from the game itself, a long patient encirclement followed by one sudden move. Jung Woo-sung gives a hero who knows how to stay quiet. A sequel followed in 2019.
