What The Dollars Are Coming! Is About
A wealthy Italian dies in South Africa and leaves a fortune behind. His widow travels to Italy to decide who should get it, because the man had five nephews and she wants to see for herself which of them deserves the money. The moment word reaches the town, everybody becomes conspicuously virtuous. Mario Costa's comedy is about how fast the prospect of an inheritance rearranges people: relatives who have not called each other in years are suddenly inseparable. With Alberto Sordi, Nino Taranto and Isa Miranda, it goes after the target Italian comedy of the period liked best, which is small-town hypocrisy.
