The Fam

The film is about girls living in a youth home. None of them has a home left with their own families. The place is temporary, but in time it turns into another kind of family. A bond forms between the girls and the people who look after them. The account moves in sections, each belonging to someone else. The work stands between fiction and documentary. It protects nobody; the girls and the carers alike are shown with their own faults. The account stays inside the home and rarely goes outside it. Claudia Grob and Charlie Areddy are among the cast. Fred Baillif’s Swiss film, a hundred and ten minutes long, was completed in 2022.
