What The Frame Is About
Alex is a methodical cargo thief working for a cartel and Sam is a paramedic trying to save lives while running from her past. They have never met, and yet each of them watches the other's life on the television at home. Jamin Winans builds this impossible connection not as a puzzle to be solved but as two people finally being seen by someone. The director of Ink made this one outside the studio system too, on his own resources; the lack of money shows, but the idea is bigger than the budget. At a hundred and twenty-seven minutes it asks for patience and repays it.
