What The Good Sister Is About
Sarah Miro Fischer's 2026 German film follows Rose, who is very close to her older brother Sam. A woman accuses Sam of rape and Rose is called to give evidence in the investigation. The film does not build a courtroom drama. What Rose knows and what she wants to remember are handled separately; the narrative does not resolve the tension between loyalty and honesty and leaves the viewer unable to settle it. Marie Bloching leads. The tone is quiet and tense. No violence is shown. Who it's for: viewers of contemporary German drama. Who it's not for: viewers for whom an allegation of sexual assault would be difficult.
