The Human Part

Pekka Malmikunnas has gone bankrupt and is without money, but he has convinced his family that he is still the head of a large IT company. Keeping up that appearance has become something like a full time job for him. When his parents arrive unannounced he throws a lavish family dinner to dispel any doubts. The evening is going well until his goddaughter is run over by a car, and the driver becomes a common enemy for the family. The man tries to make amends, but the situation gets out of hand and Pekka attacks him. At that he understands he has gone too far and decides to tell his family the truth. Hannu-Pekka Bjorkman plays the lead in Juha Lehtola’s ninety minute Finnish film, completed in 2018.
