What The Japanese Dog Is About
A flood destroys the house of Costache and Maria. The two of them try to build their lives again. Then their son comes back, with his Japanese wife and their child. That return brings the old tensions in the family back into the open. Between Costache and his son are things not spoken of for years. Closing the distance between the generations is not easy. The film tells this without staging big scenes, through ordinary moments. The account stays on the old man’s side without putting his son in the wrong. Victor Rebengiuc and Șerban Pavlu appear in Tudor Cristian Jurgiu’s Romanian film of 2013, eighty six minutes long.
