What The Offsiders Is About
A group of homeless men gather around a former footballer, put a team together, and train to get to the Homeless World Cup. As the training goes on, the point stops being football and becomes whether they can hold together at all. Kasia Adamik built the film on the fact that a Polish team really did go to that tournament, shooting in 2007 in Warsaw, Zabrze, Ruda Śląska, Katowice and Wołomin. Marcin Dorociński, Eryk Lubos and Zbigniew Zamachowski play it. It won the audience award at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia, and it does not use homelessness as scenery.
