What The Polar Bear Is About
Four separate stories head towards the same night in Berlin. Nick is a contract killer who finishes a job and then learns the contract had already been cancelled, which makes him the target. Nico has to park a car with a live bomb in it at a set place and get away. Fabian and Reza are looking for ways to enjoy themselves with no money and keep ending up near the police. None of the four knows the others. As the night goes on they all arrive in the same place. Granz Henman directs the German film; ninety minutes, with Til Schweiger as Nick and Benno Fürmann and Florian Lukas in the cast. Schweiger produced it as well. It is one of the German films of the late nineties built on the rhythm of American crime pictures.
