What The Station Master Is About

Mr Topka is a man who makes a living from odd jobs, always travels without paying and gives the impression of a gentleman by his clothes. On one of his journeys he runs into Kokrhel, the chief railway inspector everyone is afraid of. At a small station he manages to get off the train and there puts on the stationmaster’s uniform, but he cannot escape meeting the inspector again. The film tells how a station that runs on discipline is turned upside down by a single fare dodger. The weight of the comedy is carried by the reckless tricks the man attempts in order to keep his lie going.
