The Tavern on Pyatnitskaya

There is a tavern on Pyatnitskaya street. The place is where criminal circles meet. Thieves and smugglers sit there. Business is discussed between the tables. The police cannot get into that world. Watching from outside teaches them nothing. The only way is to put someone inside. An officer is chosen for the job. He settles into the tavern under a false identity. He has to earn their trust. Every word and every move is dangerous. The story is built on that tension. One wrong move could be the end of him. Everyone in the tavern is watching everyone else. Gennadi Korolkov and Tamara Syomina appear in the ninety minute film, a Soviet production Alexandr Faintsimmer finished in 1978.
