What The Two Fedors Is About
At the end of the Second World War Fedor is demobilised. On his way home he comes across a homeless boy. The boy is called Fedor too. The two of them decide to live together. Big Fedor works in the building trade. Small Fedor goes to school and looks after the house. The arrangement between them works well. Then Natasha comes into big Fedor’s life. The two of them marry. Natasha tries to win the child’s affection. But the boy keeps his distance. Vasiliy Shukshin and Nikolai Chursin take the leads, with Tamara Syomina also in the cast, in Marlen Khutsiyev’s Soviet film of 1958.
