What The Weakness of the Bolshevik Is About
After a minor collision in Madrid, Pablo half jokingly asks the other driver, Sonsoles, out. She refuses and files an injury report instead, and Pablo begins following her. Then he sees her much younger sister María, and the fixation changes direction. Manuel Martín Cuenca adapts Lorenzo Silva's novel without prettifying what an adult man's desire for a teenage girl is, while telling it from inside that man's head, which is exactly where the discomfort comes from. Luis Tosar plays Pablo. María Valverde, in the role of María, won the Goya for best new actress in 2004.
