The Weight of Elephants

Adrian is a boy of ten. He lives inside a world of his own imagining. But the reality around him is something else. His mother left him when he was small. He lives now with his uncle and his grandmother. His uncle has been depressed for a long time. His grandmother is worn out with work. Neither of them understands the boy’s games. At school his classmates bully him. Then news arrives. Three children are missing. At the same time a new family moves in next door. Adrian grows close to their daughter Nicole and believes he is solving the mystery of the missing children. Demos Murphy and Matthew Sunderland take the leads in Daniel Borgman’s Danish, New Zealand and Swedish coproduction of 2013.
