The Written Off Return

Prle and Tihi are what is left of a resistance group. Belgrade lies under Nazi occupation. The two had to leave the city and join the partisans in the countryside. In the summer of 1944 word comes from the city. People who support the resistance are being killed one by one. Prle and Tihi decide to go back to Belgrade. They have to cross the enemy lines. They capture a minister who collaborates with the Nazis. They use his car, his clothes and his papers. That gets them through the checkpoints. On the road the minister manages to escape. He alerts the Gestapo. What follows turns into a chase. The film joins action with a war narrative. The bond between the two friends holds the story together. Dragan Nikolić and Vojislav Brajović appear in the ninety five minute film, a Yugoslav production Milenko Jeremić finished in 1976.
