What Time Stands Still Is About
A Budapest high school at the start of the sixties. Dini is going through everything adolescence brings with it. His father had to leave the country after the uprising of 1956, and since then his mother has been raising two sons on her own. Bodor, a friend of the father, comes out of prison and moves in with them. Dini and his brother are not at all pleased about this man arriving in the middle of their family life. The film builds an account of adolescence in which the politics stay in the background and are felt in every scene. Peter Gothar’s ninety nine minute Hungarian film was completed in 1982.
