What To Rob a Thief Is About
Emilio arrives in Los Angeles to rob a former colleague. His target is Claudio Silvestrini, who got rich selling useless products to immigrants through television infomercials. His crew is not made of professionals but of people nobody looks at: a seller of pirated DVDs, a nervous Cuban actor, a father and his daughter. That is the film's best idea, that being an immigrant is itself a disguise, because invisibility is the most useful thing a thief can wear. The title comes from the Spanish saying that a thief who robs a thief earns a hundred years of pardon. A light, enjoyable Spanish-language heist film made in the United States.
