What Toubab Is About
Babtou comes out after two years in prison and plans a fresh start with his friend Dennis. But the welcome party, with everyone from the block there, ends in a police operation. He is put in handcuffs again and given the news: he is to be deported to Senegal, the country he has never lived in. To stop it he and Dennis are ready to try anything, including getting married. Florian Dietrich's film runs as comedy, with German deportation policy underneath it. The switches between the joke and the serious thing are made deliberately.
