Transfer

In the near future a company called Menzana succeeds in transferring a person's personality into another body. Hermann, an old man, and his seriously ill wife Anna do not want death to separate them, and they go to the company. The bodies they buy belong to Apolain and Sarah, two young people who came from Africa. Under the terms of the deal Hermann and Anna have the bodies for twenty hours a day; in the remaining four the original owners come back. Damir Lukacevic's film ties science fiction directly to race and money. Nobody here is one-dimensional: the old couple are not drawn as monsters and the young people are not offered as pure victims; everyone has a calculation and everyone has consented, and how much of that consent is consent is exactly the film's question. A quiet but hard production that lands in the middle of Germany's arguments about migration and race.
