Truly Human

P is the imaginary friend of seven year old Lisa and lives behind the wallpaper in her room. When the building is pulled down he has to leave, and somehow becomes a person of flesh and blood. What follows is his learning from nothing how to live in the world, meeting suspicion and hatred in some places and curiosity and love in others. Åke Sandgren shot it under the Dogme 95 rules and it was certified as the eighteenth film in the series; the producer was Zentropa, the company of Lars von Trier and Peter Aalbæk Jensen. Nikolaj Lie Kaas plays P. It is an attempt to tell a fable in a second hand, entirely unornamented style.
