Truth and Justice

Truth and Justice, made on a budget of 2.5 million euros, is described as the most expensive production ever made using only domestic Estonian financing. When it opened in February 2019, it sold 267,000 tickets in a country of 1.3 million people, breaking the record previously held by Avatar and becoming Estonia's most watched film since independence. Estonia submitted it for Best International Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards, where it made the December 2019 shortlist. This was writer-director Tanel Toom's feature debut.
