Used Parts

Ivan is fourteen. He lives with his uncle Jaime. Jaime deals in used car parts. The business is not doing well. Both of them have the same dream. They want to go to Chicago. They are putting money aside for it. The crossing will be an illegal one. Whoever takes them over the border has to be paid. That man is called the Coyote. Jaime works out that far more money is needed than he thought, and he brings his nephew into stealing car parts. Ivan picks the trade up quickly and brings in his best friend Efrain, and the two treat it almost as a game, until Ivan notices that his uncle’s intentions about the trip have changed. Aarón Fernández Lesur made the ninety five minute film, finished in 2007.
