Arun Prabu Purushothaman's 2021 Tamil film follows a man who counts himself unlucky. He is stuck in his work and his family, and an unexpected journey takes him out of the house. The film follows no straight plot. Tone and genre change between its sections; the narrative puts thinking about nature, death and chance in front and offers no explanation. Underwater and forest imagery take wide space. The production stands well outside the commercial form and divided opinion on release. Who it's for: those who like experimental narrative and unusual Tamil films. Who it's not for: viewers expecting a comprehensible story; the film is deliberately scattered.
