What Varg Veum - At Night All Wolves Are Grey Is About
In Bergen, the private detective Varg Veum's close friend Even is accused of bombing a weapons store. Even is an officer who left the army decorated, and he denies the charge. Veum sets out to prove him innocent. But the more he looks, the more comes out that his friend had not told him, and the matter goes well beyond a single accusation. This is one instalment of the Varg Veum series adapted from Gunnar Staalesen's novels. Alexander Eik's film carries the familiar tone of Nordic crime: a rainy city, a tired man, a past that will not come apart easily. Trond Espen Seim played Veum in every film of the series. Bergen here is not scenery but part of the story; the narrow streets and the harbour sit inside the case.
