Mujtaba Rizvi, a retired special forces officer, is called back into service to stop a major attack. Against him is a militant network inside the country and, the film argues, a structure backed from outside it. It is about the Pakistani security forces' fight against terrorism and about what that fight leaves behind in the lives of the officers themselves, staged at a scale Pakistani cinema had not attempted before. Bilal Lashari's first feature was among the most expensive films made in the country and broke box office records on release, with Shaan Shahid in the lead. It was shot with the support of the military, and it was criticised, in Pakistan as well as outside it, for its nationalist register and for casting India as the enemy.
