What Wanee & Junah Is About
Wanee draws animation and Junah writes screenplays; they live together, and both hold on to their work half out of stubbornness. When an old friend of Wanee’s turns up, the past she has been keeping down surfaces: the closeness she felt for her stepbrother Min, fed by a shared love of cartoons, which years ago turned into something neither of them could carry and which sent Min to Europe. Now he is coming back. Kim Yong-gyun stages this not as scandal but as a grief nobody has been allowed to name, and he pushes Junah into the position of someone who can only watch.
